Newcastle // Kokedama

During this workshop you will learn how to create your own unique hanging (or standing!) plant display using a traditional Japanese planting technique known as Kokedama.

Kokedama, a Japanese term that translates as “ball of moss”, are plants which grow in a moss-covered ball and sit on a decorative tray or plate - they also look amazing hanging.

On the evening you will be guided through the process of creating your own Kokedama, from preparing the plant, soil and moss through to forming the soil ball, wrapping the plant in moss and then tying it all together. You'll also learn how to care for and keep your Kokedama thriving. 

This is a fun and creative workshop that allows you to connect with nature and make something beautiful to take home.

A selection of plants will be available to choose from, along with choices of display plates and/or bowls.
